Aptec to Sell Dell’s Commercial Line of Products to Approximately 5,000 Resellers

Dubai, UAE, 14 July 2009 – Dell has recently appointed Aptec Distribution, part of Aptec Holdings, as an official distributor in Egypt extending the company’s existing agreement beyond the UAE and Gulf region. Aptec now offers Dell’s commercial line of products, including PowerEdge servers, Dell/EMC and EqualLogic storage solutions, Latitude laptops, Dell Precision workstations and OptiPlex desktops, to resellers in Egypt.

The new agreement strengthens Dell’s channel strategy in emerging countries, collaborating with partners and distributors to deliver products and services to customers across the Middle East region through an additional 5,000 resellers across Egypt.

Enabled by offices in nine key regions in Egypt and a network of channel partners, Aptec is well positioned to expand Dell’s presence throughout the country. Providing more choice to customers in Egypt, Aptec delivers Dell’s products with the highest level of service possible. Testament to this is the recent award Aptec received for Best Middle East & Turkey Distributor of the Year at the inaugural EMEA Channel Academy: 2009. Winners were chosen by a jury panel of executives from 40 top international vendors.

“Aptec will provide its Egyptian customers the opportunity to benefit from many of the features and efficiencies Dell’s commercial line of products has to offer, as well as giving resellers another channel through which to access Dell products,” said Dell Tarek Heiba, territory manager, Dell Egypt and Levant. “From our experience, Aptec offers customers great service, giving us confidence that they will deliver the quality customer experience we aim to achieve at Dell.”

“We are very pleased to add Dell to our Egypt-based portfolio of products, offering our partners and their customers a wider choice of international-standards technology,” said Dr Tarek Baghdadi, general manager for Aptec Egypt. “As such we are confident that this partnership will be a success.”

Dr. Ali Baghdadi, Group CEO for Aptec Holdings said “As a leading distributor in Egypt and the Middle East, we are in a great position to add value to Dell’s channel strategy, supporting their ambitions within the region”. According to Baghdadi, “Aptec will invest in the resources to ensure they maintain an inventory of Dell products, including those enterprise products which are in continuous demand by the reseller channel as well as the right infrastructure for support services”.
