" 3COM and APTEC Gulf Partnership
Creates Strong Lead in Network Market "
Ongoing Collaboration Delivers Results
in SMB and Enterprise Sector
3COM , one of the world’s leading network technology
companies, is building upon its partnership with Aptec
Gulf, naming them as 3COM’s “Over-Achieving
Partner” for the past quarter, and outlining a
strategic plan for deeper penetration in the Gulf States.
The “Over-Achievers’ Award” reflects
the strong market position that Aptec Gulf has helped
3Com develop in the region. Over the summer, 3COM has
seen increased sales as a result of rising demand for
networking products in the “emerging business”
Through co-ordinated campaigns with Aptec aimed at
reseller partners in the Middle East, 3COM has recorded
strong growth for its diverse product portfolio which
includes routers, switches, and a broad range of high-value
voice and data networking products.
“Aptec Gulf has provided effective, ongoing support
for 3COM in a highly competitive market, acting as a
champion for our products and providing expertise and
system knowledge to our customers,” Claire Jones, SMB and distribution manager, 3Com Middle East.
“They have also provided us with an invaluable
insight into new areas of opportunity for 3COM , providing
us with feedback from resellers and customers, and enabling
us to grow our share of the market,” added Jones.
Looking to the future, Aptec Gulf and 3COM are in discussions
around the launch of focus campaigns that will target
specific countries in the Gulf.
Aptec will be instrumental in distributing a number
of 3Com’s most innovative products, including
a high-speed, wireless “travel router” for
business travellers that analysts suggest will have
a major impact in the Middle East.
The strength of the relationship will be demonstrated
at this year’s GITEX, where the Aptec stand will
have a wide selection of 3Com products on display, including
its updated and improved OfficeConnect family of wireless
Strengthening the enterprise relationship
One of the driving factors behind 3COM Middle East’s
success in 2004 has been its aggressive expansion in
the region’s enterprise sector, developing a range
of effective, cost-competitive solutions for organizations
of all sizes.
In addition to its key role in distributing 3Com’s
products across the Middle East and generating strong
trade sales, Aptec Gulf has worked hard to become fully
aligned with this strategy, providing support for a
number of high profile wins in the region.
“In 2004, 3COM has won significant enterprise
business throughout the Middle East, working with a
number of leading banking, government, hospitality and
educational organizations. It is through close partnership
at every part of the value chain – collaboration
with both customers and partners like Aptec –
that we have been able to realize this success,”
said Tarek Ghoul, manager for the Gulf and Levant at
3COM Middle East.
3Com’s successes in the region include providing
the network infrastructure for Bahrain’s Ministry
of Commerce innovative e-government initiative and Qatar’s
ASPIRE Academy of Sports Excellence.
Looking to the future, 3COM is planning to extend collaboration
on key implementation projects across the Gulf.
“Aptec offers expertise, industry insight, and
ongoing support,” said Ghoul. “2004 is shaping
up to be a highly successful year for 3Com, and we are
confident that our partners will share in that success.”
We thrive on our expertise in value add to deliver
maximum for 3COM business.
